The Republic P- 47D Thunderbolt was a World War II fighter produced by the United States from 1941 to 1945. Its main armament consisted of eight .50-caliber machine guns and, in the role of ground-attack fighter-bomber, it could carry five-inch rockets or a bomb load of 2,500 lbs (1,103 kg).
