KAVAN ORION A3 Kit 930mm glider

Kit for building an A3 category free-flight glider in high-performance balsa, with wing and tail built and covered in fabric. An ideal introduction to classic construction and fabric covering for anyone who hasn't forgotten that some of history's most important aircraft were built in wood. You know - Wright Flyer, Bleriot XI, De Havilland Mosquito... The A3 is a Czech national class of entry-level free-flight gliders; you can think of it as a scaled-down F1H/A1 glider class - the models are smaller and very easy to build so you can start conquering the skies right away. The Orion is a good hand-launched glider; the adjustable side tow hook allows you to start with a 25 m tow cable, as required by the A3 category.

Precise CNC-cut parts, a full-scale plan and a detailed instruction manual make assembly very easy; even the wing with an under-cambered section assembles well, thanks to the templates included in the kit. All you need are basic modelling tools (modelling knife, scissors, modelling pins, fine flat brush), glue (UHU-Hart, medium CA, etc.), adhesive and shrink putty.
