Proxxon THERMOCUT 12/E hot wire cutterAlso suitable for free cutting of polystyrene sheets for model railroading. Other areas of application include architectural modeling, prototype construction, for designers, decorators or for high-precision work on building insulation. Solid clamp with swivel clamp at the top and telescopic wire clamp at the bottom. Maximum total offset 200 mm. Cutting wire temperature can be infinitely adjusted: depending on the density and thickness of the material, it is possible to achieve an optimal cutting result with a little practice. Most of the time for a measured temperature and pressure. Heating time: 1 second. Complete with 5 deformable cutting wires 285 x 0,85 m.

Technical data

12 V. 60 W. Cutting wire temperature adjustable from approx. 150 to 350 °C. We recommend the use of MICROMOT transformers from 2 A onwards.
The cutting wires (285 x 0.85 mm) allow the production of profiles by hand or with pliers.
Swivel top attachment.
Telescopic wire attachment for max. 200 mm offset.
Steplessly adjustable cutting temperature.

Note

Polystyrene is an inexpensive material that is very environmentally friendly compared to other materials and can be easily cut with a hot wire. This material is available in almost all DIY stores in the form of sheets in standard sizes of 50 x 100 cm and in thicknesses of 2 to 16 mm.
