With the EWD scales this uncertainty can be avoided on the first flight. EWD measurement with prism or mandrel on:
- strongly curved profiles (no measuring error due to the measuring mandrel)
- T-tail, cross-tail
- V-tail (by rotating prisms)

The following useful measurements are also possible:
- Adjustment of rotor blades on helicopters
- Measurement of engine camber for internal combustion and electric drives
- Checking of wing tilt or warp
- Positioning of the model on departure (wheel position)
